Green tea and its health properties
Green tea contains a range of healthy compounds that has made it a popular herbal drink in the world for so many years. The herb is native to India and China. After water, tea is one of the most consumed drinks in the world. Green tea accounts for 20% of the global consumption while black tea has the highest share with 78%.
The north of Iran is home to the highest quality green tea due to its suitable climate condition. The tea is full of antioxidant compounds, making it the healthiest drink in the world. It is also rich in cancer-fighting, anti-inflammatory, and pain-relieving ingredients, due to containing polyphenol agent.

One of the most powerful compounds in the herb is polyphenols which according to studies conducted by the National Cancer Institute may help reduce the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells while protecting the cells against UVB rays.
- Reducing cardiovascular disease
The studies show that the herb may also help improve and strengthen heart function, thus reducing cardiovascular disease.

Studies indicate that consuming green tea may help lower LDL cholesterol or bad fats.
- Reducing the risk of brain stroke
